mission accomplished

finaly, a season where i met my own expectations!
the team's goal for this season were: 1) survive in league; 2) host a cup game; 3) bonus: finishing 4th or up,and having to play no qualifiers.
3 out of 3 ain't bad, innit?
now, a few words to sum up this last season...
well, this season the team has matured. i think i got to a point where the team is more or less balanced, more or less stable - a good starting point for planned improvements. i want to keep improving the team, but in small steps - to have a team that is strong all over. i will change training in the near future, and i hope that in the far future there lies hope, or at least some HT money :P

PS if i were a reader of this blog, i'd expect some updates in the very near future (ie off-season) :)

mid-season summary

it's been a while since i last updated this blog, but now that my life is coming back together again, i guess i'll be updating more often.
anyways...
when this season started off i set myself one primary goal: to survive in the league, preferably in 4th place or up. for this i assumed i'll need at least 23 league points. for now i have 13. let's just hope for the best.
a secondary goal i put forward for my team was to host at least one cup game. i figured this would be a nice achievement, that would also contribute some TS and some money to the club. it did. :)
so, for now things are looking quite good. hopefully enough points will come our way, and we'll avoid a qualifications match. training is also looking good. our pietro dalla sega will probably not be invited to the italian u20, which allows us to finally change training type. more on that to come...

season 25 (almost) over

well, only almost, coz I STILL NEED TO PLAY THE F**KING QUALIFIER!
god damn it!
in a somewhat surprising turn of events, hapoel kolbo-shalom find themselves in 5th place and waiting for a qualifier to stay in div3.
in retrospect, the manager can think of at least one match where he lost points he shouldn't have, due to outsite-of-HT reasons, but never mind now, we have a qualifier to ret ready for...

the plot thickens - update (sn.25(9)/rd.13)

Series: III.9
 Team Played Goals Points
1. Lord Ofir 13 54-23 31
2. haifa boom 13 18-14 20
3. hapoel kolbo-shalom 13 34-31 18
4. Atlantque 13 28-30 17
5. F.C Hnana 13 19-28 17
6. IsraeliskullS 13 27-37 17
7. Dodos 13 27-31 16
8. beni herzelia 13 18-31 13

this is our league table, with one more round to be played. we play beni herzelia, who managed to squeeze away a point at our shalom meir stadium on round 1.
the three teams who threaten our precious spot above the "pink line" (that seperates 4th place from 5th) are atlantque (will play against dodos), hnana and skulls (will play each other). i am 1 point ahead of these three teams.
this means hpoel kolbo-shalom will not finish 7/8th, but might well finish in 6th place.
we need to win!
(then again, a qualification is not that bad - extra training etc - as long as you win)

update (sn.25(9)/rd.10)

after playing 10 games this season, hapoel kolbo-shalom stands at second place, 4 points behind lord ofir. we're also 8 points away from the red line, with 12 more points to compete for. theoreticaly, enything can happen.
in relity though (HT reality, of course), we probably won't take first place. it's more likely that in four weeks we'll find ourselves in a qualification match (fighting demotion, of course) than in first place.
our next match is against series leader lord ofir. we managed to squeeze a point in the away game, but this week we expect nothing more than a nice income ;) . points would be nice, but they'll be coming as a surprize (meaning the probably won't come at all) :( .
